CampusTours Project Details

  • HTML5 Interface
The new HTML5 interface is available for all visitors except those running older broswers and some versions of Internet Explorer. If you have an older browser or are running Internet Explorer, you will be directed to a Flash version of the presentation.

  •
  • InteractiveVideo Technology
Using CampusTours content-managed InteractiveVideo technology, The Architect's Virtual Campus Experience videos contain cue points that allow users to explore the important themes discussed in the videos. Breaking videos into shorter thematic chapters and then integrating InteractiveVideo cue points into the videos allows organizations to add depth and granularity to their presentations. According to CampusTours visitor surveys, photorealistic maps are considered the best maps available today.

  •
  • Photo-Realistic 3D Map of Washington DC
The Architect's Virtual Campus includes a photorealistic 3D map of the Architect of the Capitol campus, including the United States Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the US Botanic Gardens, the House and Senate office buildings, the Capitol Visitor's Center, and other Washington landmarks including the National Mall, Smithsonian Institution buildings and the White House. CampusTours artists rendered the Capitol using three dimensional technologies and then painstakingly applied accurate textures and colorations to produce this stunning map.

  •
  • Interactive Timeline
An Interactive Timeline provides visitors to the Architect's Virtual Capitol with a wonderful tool for learning about specific events in the history of the buildings and grounds of the Architect of the Capitol.

  •
  • Content managed virtual tours
Short thematic video tours allow the Architect of the Capitol to develop presentations to showcase aspects of the Capitol and other locations to even more visitors. The Architect of the Capitol may add or update these presentations at any time with the CampusTours MultiMedia Engine software.

  •
  • Deep Linking
Deep linking to the tour, timeline or map in any state gives the capability to provide specific experiences to particular visitor groups, and share particular tour content with friends. Deep Linking also creates the capability to generate presentations that are hidden from the public but shown to distinct audiences or individuals.

  •
  • Accessibility Tags
Accessibility tags within the content management system allow for precise tagging of all tour graphical items and content. An alternative, less-graphical, HTML version of the tour is available optimized for visitors with screen readers (can also be used by visitors whose devices lack Adobe Flash technology.)
